CAREERS WEEK at The British School of Almería

The British School of Almeria has celebrated, as part of its ISP FUTURE PATHWAYS programme, its Career Week. This is a practical training programme aimed at secondary school students at the British School.

The celebration of this CAREERS WEEK would not have been possible without the active collaboration of all the professionals from different sectors who have participated in the different activities, either by giving a talk, a workshop or participating in the careers fair on the last day. Executives and/or workers from companies such as Kimitek, Sakata or Wetaka, as well as representatives from institutions such as the Guardia Civil, the Armed Forces or the SAS (Andalusian Health Service) participated as active speakers. A total of 18 speakers came to The British School of Almeria to explain the day-to-day work of their profession, the studies and skills required for it, and to resolve all the doubts raised by the students.  One of the most outstanding activities was a professional workshop where they worked on skills for incorporation into the world of work, for example, simulating interviews and preparing CVs.

In addition, at the career fair on the last day, more than 15 different stands gave answers and excitement to all the students who came to inquire about all the possibilities that the future holds for them. Sectors such as professional sports institutions, health, marketing, security, agriculture, food biotechnology, law, IT, banking, architecture and psychology were present at the fair. This conference was a very interesting and didactic way of bringing the different realities of the labour market closer to students who are already thinking about their future.
