PRIMARY CURRICULUM

Our primary school children are provided with an extremely broad curriculum, which gives them the opportunity to discover the world through a range of different topics.

We use a theme-based curriculum which allows for across-curricular approach where pupils can explore a new topic through the range of subjects studied: English, maths, science, art, history, geography, ICT, music and physical education.

Our Spanish department works hard to ensure that our pupils meet all of the study requirements of the Spanish system in the lessons of Lengua and Sociales.

Pupils in our primary school also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of personal and social issues via our PSHE and assembly programme.

The primary curriculum is divided into two stages:
Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2)
Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6)

One of the most important focuses in our primary school is encouraging children to become independent learners and reflect upon their understanding whilst recognising how they can constantly strive to “get better” each day.

The central aim for our primary programme is that our pupils find lessons, fun, enjoyable, challenging and rewarding. Only then will we be successful in starting them off on their exciting journey of life-long learning.
